ShareMaster Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ShareMaster collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the ShareMaster app and related services.
Application provider: MINDSAFETECH LLC
Contact: support@mindsafetech.com
Terms of Use: ShareMaster Terms of Use
1. Summary
ShareMaster is a local file transfer tool. The core transfer feature is designed to send files directly between nearby devices on the same Wi-Fi network or hotspot.
We do not operate ShareMaster as a cloud storage service. We do not intentionally upload, store, or host the files you transfer between devices.
We may collect account, device, purchase, entitlement, diagnostic, and app usage information needed to provide authentication, purchase sync, device-limit enforcement, support, security, and app functionality.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information
If you create or sign into a ShareMaster account, we may collect:
- Email address.
- Firebase user ID.
- Sign-in provider, such as email/password, Apple, or Google.
- Email verification status.
- Last login time.
- Authentication metadata needed to keep you signed in and protect your account.
Device and Activation Information
To support trial limits, lifetime access, active-device management, and cross-platform access, we may collect:
- Device ID or app install identifier.
- Platform, such as iOS, Android, macOS, or Windows.
- Device display name shown in the app.
- Last used time.
- Active-device status.
- Device removal or activation information.
On iOS, the device ID may use Apple's identifier for vendor when available, or a locally generated app install identifier.
Purchase and Entitlement Information
To verify purchases and restore access, we may collect:
- Purchase plan status, such as free or paid.
- Purchase date.
- Product ID.
- Transaction ID.
- Original transaction ID.
- Purchase token or platform purchase identifier.
- Bundle ID or package name.
- Purchase verification time.
- Platform purchase details needed to prevent one purchase from being linked to multiple unrelated accounts.
Local Transfer Information
ShareMaster may process file metadata locally on your device during file selection and transfer, including:
- File name.
- File size.
- File type.
- Transfer progress.
- Temporary local file paths.
- Duplicate-detection identifiers or hashes.
This information is used to prepare, display, transfer, save, and deduplicate files. Transferred files are sent directly between devices where possible and are not intentionally stored on ShareMaster servers.
Nearby Discovery Information
To find nearby devices, ShareMaster uses local network discovery technologies such as Bonjour/mDNS and local TCP networking.
During local discovery, nearby devices may see:
- Your ShareMaster device name.
- Local network service information.
- Local network connection details needed to connect devices.
This discovery information is used on your local network or hotspot so devices can appear in the nearby device list.
Photos, Videos, and Files
ShareMaster uses system pickers and system permissions to let you choose files, photos, and videos.
Depending on your platform and actions, ShareMaster may request access to:
- Selected files.
- Selected photos or videos.
- Add-only photo library permission to save received photos and videos.
- File save locations chosen by you.
ShareMaster only accesses files, photos, or videos that you select through system controls or choose to save.
Diagnostics and App Information
We may collect or process diagnostic information needed to operate and improve the app, such as:
- App version.
- Platform and operating system version.
- Error messages.
- Network discovery status.
- Purchase or account sync errors.
- Crash or performance information, if enabled through third-party tools.
- General app usage events, if analytics is enabled.
The iOS app currently includes Firebase SDK components, including Firebase Authentication, Firebase Functions, and Firebase Analytics. Firebase may process technical and usage information according to Google's Firebase terms and privacy documentation.
3. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
ShareMaster does not intentionally collect or store:
- The contents of files transferred between devices.
- A cloud copy of transferred files.
- Public posts, public profiles, or social feed content.
- Your contacts list.
- Precise GPS location for the local transfer feature.
The app may temporarily store received files on your device so you can preview, save, or share them. Temporary files remain in app-controlled local storage unless you save or delete them through available system actions or the operating system removes temporary data.
4. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide local device discovery and file transfer.
- Let you select, receive, preview, save, and share files.
- Create and manage your ShareMaster account.
- Verify purchases and restore lifetime access.
- Sync purchase status across supported platforms.
- Enforce trial and active-device limits.
- Prevent purchase restore abuse.
- Provide customer support.
- Debug errors, improve reliability, and maintain security.
- Comply with legal, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and platform requirements.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share or process information with:
- Firebase and Google services for authentication, backend functions, analytics, hosting, database, or related infrastructure.
- Apple App Store services for purchase, restore, and transaction verification.
- Google Play services for Android purchase verification if Android purchases are supported.
- Cloud infrastructure providers needed to run backend services.
- Legal, safety, fraud prevention, or compliance parties when required by law or necessary to protect users, the app, or our rights.
We do not intentionally share the contents of your transferred files with our backend providers because ShareMaster is designed for local peer-to-peer transfer.
6. Storage and Retention
We keep account, purchase, entitlement, and active-device information for as long as needed to provide the app, verify purchases, support cross-platform access, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, and resolve support issues.
Examples:
- Account profile records may be kept while your account exists.
- Purchase records may be kept as long as needed to verify lifetime access and prevent duplicate purchase claims.
- Active-device records may be updated when you sign in, use the app, activate a device, or remove a device.
- Local temporary files may remain on your device until you save them, delete them, clear app data, uninstall the app, or the operating system removes temporary data.
If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize personal account data where required, subject to records we must keep for purchase verification, fraud prevention, security, tax, legal, or dispute-resolution purposes.
7. Your Choices
You can:
- Use local trial transfer features without signing in, where available.
- Choose whether to create or sign into an account.
- Choose which files, photos, or videos to send.
- Accept or decline incoming transfers.
- Turn nearby visibility on or off in Settings.
- Change your device display name.
- Remove old active devices from your account, where supported.
- Request password reset through Firebase Authentication.
- Manage App Store purchases through your Apple account.
- Control app permissions in your device settings.
If you deny Local Network permission, nearby discovery and local transfer may not work correctly.
If you deny Photos permission, ShareMaster may not be able to save received photos or videos to your photo library.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect account, purchase, and device information.
Local file transfers happen over the local network. ShareMaster requires receiver approval by default for incoming transfers. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You should only accept transfers from devices and people you trust.
9. Children
ShareMaster is not intended for children under 13 or for anyone under the minimum age required in their country or region to use online account services.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us at support@mindsafetech.com.
10. International Use
Your information may be processed in countries or regions where we or our service providers operate. These locations may have privacy laws different from those in your country or region.
By using ShareMaster, you understand that your information may be processed as described in this Privacy Policy.
11. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access personal information we have about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Delete certain information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Request a copy of certain information.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To make a privacy request, contact us at support@mindsafetech.com. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request.
12. Third-Party Links and Services
ShareMaster may link to or rely on third-party services, such as Apple, Google, Firebase, or platform app stores. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services that we do not control.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice inside the app, on our website, or through another reasonable method.
Your continued use of ShareMaster after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you acknowledge the updated policy.
